Cling to Him

Deuteronomy 30:19, 20

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

Many today depend on God when all their strength and all their wealth can not rescue them. They go to God at last. This is where the faithless generation exposed. But King David on the other hand went to God when he lacked everything and also when he had everything. That is why he was a man after God’s own heart.

When a difficult situation arise, they try with all their own resources and when everything else is failed, they depend on God. They are ready to wait on God. God is merciful and help them, but He knows the condition of your heart. He does not like it nor pleased with it. Blessing is not a symbol of God’s approval but rather His mercy. God approves a person who love Him, obey Him, and cling to Him in ALL circumstances.

When you cling to Him, you will obey Him.

When you obey Him, you will love Him.

When you come near to Him, He will come near to you.

Power of the Holy Spirit – Overflowing with Hope

Romans 15:1-13

13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In this world that we are living today, it is easy to get discouraged. It is easy to get frustrated and lose the stamina of our spiritual run. But do you know that one of the areas where the power of Holy Spirit will manifest is hope? Yes, the overflowing hope in your heart is the power of the Holy Spirit. Without it you cannot survive in this world as a True Christian.

When you are discouraged, God in Christ through the Holy Spirit gives you encouragement. When you are tired of fighting a good battle, God through His Spirit gives you endurance. Endurance and encouragement comes from God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is our source and hope. When these two comes in the time of weary, then overflowing hope flows in our heart. Our heart is at rest.

Do you know how the Holy Spirit manifest His power in this regard?

  1. Through the Scriptures that are written in the past – Romans 15:4
  2. Same attitude of mind towards each other that Christ Jesus had – Romans 15:5
  3. Trusting in God – Romans 15:13

By reading the scriptures, we learn about how the saints of God endured and we get encouragement from their life. By having the same mind of Christ Jesus, we do not complicate ourselves with doctrine and self-righteousness but with true love and pure heart we treat others. By trusting in God the Father we fill our lives with joy and peace. This is the overflowing of hope in our hearts and it is the power of God to strengthen us and to encourage us.

So dear brothers and sisters, lets us not lose hope; but let us endure, encourage one another, bear with the failings of the weak, have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had, and trust in our God of hope our Father in heaven.

The channel of perfect soundness

Acts Chapter 3:

13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

It is not by our strength or godliness. It is not by our virtue or strife. It is the faith that comes through His Name. It is the faith in His name. His name is Jesus.

When we are witnessing for Christ Jesus we see this channel opened through our spiritual eye by the Holy Spirit. He works the miracle in our life which gives the soundness in this life. Everyday this lame man was placed to receive alms from the people. Everyday we face the same routine of issue and looking up to a human to fulfill our desires. But we never receive the soundness in life. In this situation comes our apostles and they see the need and acted accordingly.  They explained the people that the channel of this miracle is not themselves but it is the faith in His name. This gives them a pause to wonder what they missed out by crucifying their Messiah. Now there is a chance to look into Him for their own life. A life that is filled by burdens and temptations. A life that needs deliverance in one way or the other. What shall we do if we are like the people who saw the miracle and wished that they get deliverance in their life like that?

Repent and follow the way of the Holy Lamb who gave Himself as a sacrifice for all mankind. When you do, the blood of the Holy Lamb Jesus Christ will blot out your sins and the curses that you inherited. So the times of refreshing will come from the presence of the Lord. Then you would be blessed and you yourself will be a witness of this mighty revelation. Be strong in the Lord and see the refreshing blessing that comes from the Lord and descends in your house. He is more than able to deliver you from any situation. Repent and look upon Jesus and perfect soundness will flow from God’s presence. Amen.

Praise the Lord, my soul

Psalms 103:1-2

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits

The Lord God is your God. He leads you in a righteous path. Even the devil puts snare in front of you. You can escape it. The peace that surpass all understanding will flow from the throne of God. Many will try to find this path but in vain will be their pursuit. He gives peace to those He has chosen. The wicked will not find peace. He lowers haughty eyes and bring down the pride. The ruins of death and the pangs of sheol will engulf many. But who came in the shelter of most high will be escaped from it. Like the morning sunshine light a glorious light will be shone around you. Light that drives the darkness and light that expose the minds of men. When there is sin grace abounds but those who likes to sin will not find grace even if they look for it. A heart like a dove with no deceit is very rare to find but when you stay away from deceit you would be blessed. A heart that is with no deceit and a sharp mind like a serpent is a joy to the Lord because it can discern evil even though it will not fall for it. A man with sweet lips is more dangerous than a man with less words.

How far can you go? Asks the Lord God Almighty. How long you will walk in two ways? A heart that chooses life is like a honey in the desert. Even though the life is full of heat of the desert the heart finds the rest in God Almighty. You are a precious stone before God. I will clothe you with My salvation proclaims the Lord. My flesh and My blood is enough for you says the Lord. My covenant is forever and it will not depart from you. A little while I am not with you but I am coming again as a righteous King to establish the kingdom of God. The saints of the Lord will be rejoicing in His coming. The bride will decorate herself for the Bridegroom. The earth shall be glad and all that is in it. A reward for My people and a sword for My enemies are coming with Me says the Lord. So repent and turn to the Great Shepherd of all souls.

Oh my soul praise the Lord let Him be your desire and your life and He shall direct your path to safety. When arrows of the enemy pierced my heart my soul broke within me; but my Savior Lord Jesus came by the road of Jericho and had compassion on me took me in His arms and pour out the oil on my wound and made me to rest in His bosom. A compassionate and loving Shepherd and God is He who gives grace to the humble and mercy to the poor. He is a God who inquires about us so I will lay my burdens on Him and be glad in Him. Yesterday is gone tomorrow is the hands of God today is the day that the Lord has made for us and we shall be glad in it. Oh hallelujah. Those who has breath in their nostrils praise the Lord in the land of the living. Amen.

Fear not, God is with you to help you

Isaiah 41:13

For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
    I will help you.

You who are a failure or thinking that you have failed, do not fear, God is with you to help you. The Lord God is holding your hand and speaking to you, fear not, I am with you and I will help you. This word really encouraged me when I was in deep frustration and discouragement. I thought to myself that I am a failure in His ministry, family and every other things that I pursued and I will never please God. But God spoke to me with those above words to strengthen me. How loving and caring is our God. I learnt a truth that I am not holding His hand but He is holding my hand. So even when we want to run from His presence He will not leave us. What a great Father we have in Jesus. The Lord God was with Joseph even when he was wrongly accused and sent to prison. The same God who is with him in the prison was also with him to resist the temptation. He gave his best by running away from the sin and the result was failure according to the worldly standards because he was sent to prison. In the end God was with him and helped him to fulfill his purpose. He was sent to Egypt as a slave before his brethren and his father’s house to save them from a deadly famine. So one day your failures will be turned into blessings for you and for your entire family. You will be a blessing to others when you run away from sin and trust in His awesome promises. So fear not, God is with you to help you. Amen

Rejected Silver

Jeremiah 6th Chapter:

16 Thus says the Lord“Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ 17 Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen.’

29 The bellows blow fiercely, The lead is consumed by the fire; The smelter refines in vain, For the wicked are not drawn off. 30 People will call them rejected silver, Because the Lord has rejected them.”

A silver that is rejected by the smelter is called the rejected silver. He sits near by it and refines it well like other metals, but this bunch of metal is not getting purified. Then the smelter rejects it because there is no use for it nor he does not waste his time.

Like this God rejecting many people from his fold because they are constantly refuse to hear Him nor walk in His ways. These rebellious people walk in their own desire of their heart. Wherever their heart desire leads them, that they pursue it. When God sets a watchman and blows the warning sound, they do not hear. They like their own ways and they are oblivious to the impending danger. Their ears only like the message of peace and comfort, but they do not like the message of a doctor who needs to operate on the wound to restore the soul. If only they knew that their soul is suffering, then they might listen to Him. But the ruler of the world blinded their eyes to see the sickness of their soul. My people are perishing cries the Lord. But that cry is ignored by many. So God classified them as rejected silver, after multiple attempt to refine them. They simply do not want to be healed and they like the medicine of the world and happy to live like that.

So dear brothers and sisters we don’t want to be in this lot of rejected silver. Let us stand in the way and see; inquire about the old paths, in which choose the path that leads to life, truth, and healing. That way is in Jesus. Those who are walking in this way will find rest and healing for their souls. They will be called the treasures of God.

Do you know how to walk in this Way? If not, seek it in the word of God and ask Him to open your eyes to show the dross in you, and the Holy Spirit will convict you. You will be sanctified when you confess and ask for forgiveness. When there is time, repent and change your ways. The days are evil and it is not going to get any better. This the hard truth, but most of us thinks happy times are ahead. It may help you psychologically but it will not do any good for your soul. So repent and walk in the right way. If you think Jesus is not the only way, then you are free to choose any way in your life. If you find rest for your souls and measure that the path you chose is the right path, then you can stay on. One’s own measure will be measured back him.

So repent and walk in the right path in Christ Jesus. He will give you rest for the weary and weak. Amen.

Mat 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

The Open Tomb

John 20:1-10

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

Mary was so fearful and sad when she saw the open tomb. Her fear immediately made her to think that someone stole Jesus body. When we are in fear we only see the open tomb but failed to see the power of God. Our thought process immediately takes us through various scenarios of an open tomb, but never realize the scripture that Christ will rise up from the dead. This is very true in our discipleship today. We do not see the power of God through the open tomb but we only see the open tomb and panic. Even though the disciple were told that He would rise in the third day they did not realize at that moment of fear and dismay. Likewise we know many scriptures and many testimonies of God’s power, but we still don’t remember it or put in action those words of God at the time of fear. The spirit of fear is the worst enemy to blind our eyes to see the glory of God. The power of God is not manifested because of the fear that is in our heart.

In today’s brittle and luxurious world even a slight discomfort bring so much fear in our heart and that is the reason many are blinded to see the power of God. Cast out the spirit of fear and you will see the glory of God. The power that raised up Christ Jesus will work miracles in your life. The open tomb is the sign of God’s power and it is not a sign of loss. Devil is a liar and through the spirit of fear he brings lies and doubts in your mind to destabilize your faith. Humble yourselves to God and resist the devil and he shall flee from you.

From the ashes you rise

Hebrews 10:35-39

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.”38 And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” 39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Dear saints many of you are undergoing reproach. Many might be undergoing things that you did not anticipated in your life. These troubles all happened when you were illuminated by our Lord Jesus. The friends may reproach you; the relatives may shame you; your wife or husband might accuse you, and you feel like you are thrown into a ditch like Joseph when you did nothing wrong. You might feel that life is pushing you into the tomb like Lazarus. You may be thinking that I am trying to please God and why everything is going in the wrong way. But dear saints, do not lose your confidence. The faith that you held fast so far, do not let go of it. For the Lord God says the just shall live by faith and the soul that backs off from it He is not pleased. Lord Jesus will come to your tomb where Satan made you to sleep and call out like how he called out Lazarus. When He comes by, you will rise up in life and in faith you will run. So hold fast your confidence which brings you great reward and God the Father will be pleased by your faith through His Son Jesus Christ.

From the ashes you rise; from the dust you fly; not a as a dust but as a man or woman of God you rise up from the accusation, reproach, slander and all evil thing that fell on you. God who raised up our Lord Jesus from the grave gives you the strength through His Spirit and make you an instrument to fulfill His good and perfect will. He will give you peace in Jesus who works in us to please the Father.  Do not fall behind; overcome your hurdles by putting Satan behind you and run the race looking unto the Author and Finisher of Faith our Lord Jesus. Amen

Sin of slandering – Do not speak evil of one another

Tags

James 4: 11, 12

Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

Many today speaks about another person and they speak mainly evil about them because either they are doing some harm or some doctrinal issues or something that they don’t like. With social media is on the rise, this sin is easy to do and be heard by many.

This is exactly opposite to the way our Lord Jesus followed.

Did Jesus washed Judas feet? Yes

Did Jesus spoke evil about Judas directly mentioning his name? No (Mark 14:20, 21)

If our Lord who is the righteous Judge did not speak evil about Judas, how much more we should control our tongue?

Even though evil men do evil works behind the scenes, even though they are devilish in their heart, we should discern it and escape from their snares; but do not speak evil about an individual. The works of darkness should be exposed by our works of light and not by slandering. The truth that you speak will expose the works of darkness. Many today directly accusing an individual saying that they are exposing the darkness, but this will bring great disunity and dissension among God’s children. Unless in a fellowship, you have spiritual authority over certain individual, you don’t have to name the individual (2 Tim 2:17). Even the rebuke should be done by Lord’s leading and gentleness. When you see the leaven in the doctrine or works of darkness in your midst, then it is time for you to rise up from the sleep and display the work of righteousness (Epe 5:14). The light will manifest the works of darkness and the children of light will discern it easily.  Do not fight against God with this sin. Jesus said in Mat 12:25-30 “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand…He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad”. Our Lord will gather the good grains and burn the weeds when He reaps the harvest.

Slandering gives an opening for devil to enter our life and from that point onwards we will face problems in our life. When we go to God in prayer for those issues to be resolved, it will not be answered by God, because the sin of slandering is not dealt within us. We will be fighting in the air through our fervent prayer.  If you are praying for something and you have not received, then ask God to show you the missing piece. He will convict you if there are any unconfessed sins, and then you would be in a place to receive His blessings after you confess and stay away from those sins. May the Lord of heavenly hosts protect us from slandering and give us control in our tongue and in our attitude. Amen.

Falling love crumbs

Matthew 15: 21-28

Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”

26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Here we see that our Lord pushes a woman to the level where no one wants to be in that position. Today many are in this position because of social neglects or spiritual neglect. In the church many are pushed to this level because some think that they are more righteous than others. Thinking they have more legal rights than others, to sit at the table with the Lord. They treat fellow believers like how the Pharisee treated the tax collector because those believers are struggling with weakness of flesh or struggling financially or struggling spiritually. When a person pushed to that level of unwanted position or neglect that is when he or she realize that they are in the position of a dog under the master’s table. This is a position which is very low and no one wants to be in that position because they always look to fill their needs from other’s fullness.

Acknowledge your position

The woman said, “Yes, Lord,…

When the Lord pushed that woman to that lowest position she acknowledged it. Likewise if we look at the life of King David, he was also pushed to that level; even to the level that he has to act like a mentally ill person. We can see this pattern in many saints life; Joseph is another example.

If anyone who is reading this feels that you were neglected or pushed to that level of financial dependency or depressed by the things that is going around you and you are in a bondage, then acknowledge your position to the Lord. Sometimes you landed there by your sin or wrong decisions. But sometimes the Lord Himself will push you to that level to test your faith.

Do not despise the meek providence

The woman said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” – Matthew 15:27

That is the statement of faith that our Lord expects from us. Do not despise the providence that is coming from the Lord even though it is falling from the table of the children of God. Elijah did not despise the providence that was given to him by the ravens. If the providence comes from other believers who despise you, receive it with thanks. If the deliverance comes from other believers, receive it with humbleness. This attitude of receiving God’s splattered love will determine your level of faith. When you were able to thank the Lord for the providence, that is His love that fell from the masters table, you would understand the depth of the love of Christ. When our Lord lifts you up to seat you in the table, you would be in a position to see and understand other believer’s situation well and you would show the same love that was shown to you.

See the result

Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

The result is glorious. The woman’s daughter was healed that same hour. For king David, God lifted him and enable him to sit in the throne as a king. Ps 23 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. – Psalm 23:5-6. God set King David above all his enemies and delivered from them and he received the goodness of the Lord.

So what is our take on this? Are we going to grumble and self-pity ourselves because we are in this position and despised by everybody or we will accept with joy and eagerness God’s providence even though it is not glorious. If we do the later then we would be blessed. He will lift our horn in the midst of people who despised you and above all you would be given the ministry of God’s kingdom to serve His children. Your faith will be increased and established in the Lord Jesus and He will be very pleased.
