Ex 13: 17-18 Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.
Father noticed that his son is observing other peers in bicycling while he was trained. The boys who are old enough were doing stunts and other cool stuff with the bicycle, and this son wants to do the same thing like them. When his son started to mimic the same, father realized how dangerous it was for his son and advised him not to do so. He also told that there would be a time when he can perform those cool stunts.
Likewise, in our fellowship with our Lord, many who start the fellowship new with the Lord started to do things that were out of their limits at that point of time in their spiritual life due to the eagerness to excel and/or to receive praise from others. God warns them many times about the dangers of it and if they do not listen to it, then it will be dangerous for them. The leading of the Holy Spirit will set the limits for our spiritual expansion. That is how we know when to start riding our life, when to stop and wait on the Lord and when to take a turn according to His teaching and instruction. Do not go over the limits that the Holy Spirit has set for you at a given point of time. At the same time, do not quench your fire or the zeal for the Lord to work for Him and to grow in Him.
