Luke 19:5-9 “And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him,[a] and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6 So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. 7 But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” 8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” 9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;

Let us see the encounter of Zacchaeus with our Lord. First, the Spirit of Grace meets with his spirit. This is the personal revelation of our Lord to him. He revealed Himself to the person who wanted to see Jesus. He received Him joyfully into his heart and took Him to his house. While they were walking, the people around them, started to throw their opinions and self-righteous judgment in that place against Jesus and Zacchaeus. In this place, two heavenly forces attacked Zacchaeus. One is the condemnation of the ruler of the world, and the other is the Love of God from the King of ALL things. The Love of the Lord prevailed in him as he broke in his spirit. The brokenness is because of the love that He showed towards him. From the brokenness of the heart, he repented to restore what he took illegally.

Godly sorrow is the love of God, because Father God endured the pain of watching His only begotten Son to be trampled by His own creation and finally crucified to death. The pain of God’s heart, in turn work in those who believe in His Son as a godly sorrow, to bring new life. This is salvation and it is available to all who seek Lord Jesus Christ. The world around you may condemn you; the adversary may stand against and accuse you of your sins. In midst of all this, when you look upon Lord Jesus Christ, you will see the Love of God (Grace) and when you lean on it, that is when a war breaks out in your heart, which breaks your spirit. The Love of God will prevail and you will begin a new life in Savior. The blood that ran from His crown of thorns produces a new lily flower in those who embrace Him. Would you embrace Lord Jesus Christ as your savior, if you have not done that in your life? Would you lean on this grace and allow your spirit to be broken? If you do, your sorrow will be turned into joy and you will have His peace. Amen.

Songs of Solomon 8:6-7

Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, A most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love All the wealth of his house, It would be utterly despised.
