Malachi 3:2-4 “But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.”

If we look at our above passage, God is showing two attributes. One He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap. The other is that He sits as a refiner and a purifier. During our trials, which break our spirit, He not only prepares us, but He is also with us. He is sitting as a Refiner and a Purifier, and refines us and purifies us. He is not leaving us in the furnace and go some where else and then come back to see if we are done. Rather He sits there with us during our trials to watch out for us that we should not be in the furnace more that it is required and He needs to pull us out when the time is right to be purified.

Man can leave us in the midst of our brokenness. Our parents can not be with us during our trials. We might have been thinking that our friends will be there for us, but even that may not happen. Only our Savior can be with us during our trials and tribulations. Our Comforter could only see our true brokenness. When He dwells in us, He is with us and suffers with us the pain. If He suffers with us, then there is an assurance that He will carry us through our emotions, feeling, heartbreak and pain.

Be glad ye sons and daughters of men, that Lord God with His mighty hand will protect you and mold you through fiery storms and temptations. He will carry you through in His outstretched arms, and you will be rested in His bosom where you will find peace.

Ps 23: 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
