Ps 93:5 Your testimonies are very sure; Holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever.

Eph 4:24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

God’s Holiness is something that we observe throughout the scriptures. Holiness when expressed then it is observed by someone else. That is why we can compare this to the beauty. We express holiness for God to enjoy it. As an individual believer, we express the beauty of holiness to our Creator; as a church of Christ, which is the bride, we express the beauty of holiness for the Bridegroom to observe and enjoy it.

How do we express our beauty in Holiness before our Lord?

Make no mistake, God adorns us with Holiness when we are born in Him as a new man (Eph 4:24). If we already have it, then what is there from our part to make ourselves beautiful to God? To understand this, let us look at the life of Esther.

Esther 2:2: “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king” The decree of the king is to gather all beautiful young virgins. Esther was taken to the citadel to prepare herself to appear before the king.  Why Esther was taken is because she is already lovely and beautiful (Esther 2:7 “The young woman was lovely and beautiful”). If we look at the scriptures in Esther, only beautiful women are gathered in the citadel. No other women were gathered here. Likewise, to be considered to a bride for the Bridegroom, we need to begin with God’s standard of holiness. That is why He adorns us with a new being in righteousness and in holiness. Without this, we can not approach God.

The blood of the Holy Lamb, through sincere repentance, cleanses the ugliness in us. The defilement of our flesh is taken away on the cross by our Savior in order for us to be clean and undefiled.  This is how we start our life in the new being as undefiled and filled with righteousness and holiness. In this world, if we are ugly or fat or not having the desirable features in our body, then we would be rejected or looked low by our fellow beings. However, our Lord Jesus Christ is not looking at our ugliness or fatness of our heart and rejecting it, but out of His compassion, He takes us, cleanses us, and adorns us with a new garment, which is pleasing in the sight of the Lord God. This is His love and it is open to all to receive this beautiful garment. Is anyone in need of this garment? Believe in Lord Jesus Christ and repent as the Holy Spirit gives you the conviction. You shall be adorned with this garment of salvation. Amen.

Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
