Rom 8:5-6 “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
An easy example in the scripture is that when God asked Israelites to go and fight with the Canaanites they refused to do so. That is their blessing but they were looking at this same blessing in an easier way. They might have thought that God somehow drop that blessing in to their lap. On the contrary, as Moses said that, they have to fight to receive the blessing. This is one classic example of spiritual mind and carnal mind.
In our days, like for instance, when you have two offers in your hand for a job and you are in a dilemma which one to pick. According to your natural judgment, one offer may be tremendously lucrative and career oriented than the other. Your desire is to pick that offer, but you do not want to do that because you want to do the will of God. But if you took a step back and asked yourself, will this Job allow me to continue to do my ministry that is given to me by my Lord? Then our guide, God the Holy Spirit speak to you. He is our guide, the guidance will be much clearer, and you may be ending up taking the less lucrative job, which gives you more time with the Lord and His ministry. When we keep the kingdom of God in front of us then spiritual mind will be manifested in us.
Some may say that I do not have a ministry, but everybody who is in Christ Jesus has a ministry on their own in the kingdom of God. Everybody is called to run the race and a track is set for each one. If we want to understand the will of God in our life first find out what is the ministry that the Lord gave it you. Once we know that, His will become much clearer in our life. If we ignore this fact then we will always be seeking God’s will with an earthly agenda. Let us seek the Lord to reveal us the ministry that He wants us to do in His kingdom and from there on, we will enjoy His guidance in each step of our life.
