Ps 32:8-9 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. 9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.”
Water is used in many ways. We can drink it as it is or use it in our cooking or cleanse ourselves with it. The usage of water depends upon the application. Likewise, God’s leading also differs according to what we are trying to accomplish for His kingdom. When we do the kingdom work, the earthly work is also tied into it because we are still living in this body and God knows what we need to have in this earth.
The counsel differs based on the application. There are three major types of leading:
Instruction: It is a method to execute certain tasks. Philip was instructed by the Holy Spirit to join the chariot of the Eunuch of Ethiopia (Acts 8:29). God the Holy Spirit spoke through the saints while praying to separate Saul and Barnabas for His chosen ministry (Acts 13:2). For example if you are composing a song for the edification of saints, then He will instruct you what kind of chord arrangement, the tempo and the rhythm you need for a particular song. This instruction may not be available in the written word of God, but God the Holy Spirit Who lives in you will instruct you. What He will instruct from the word of God is what words or verses you need to take it from scriptures for a particular song. So, the instruction is a blend of Holy Spirit leading from the scriptures and through His voice in this particular task. His leading may differ according to the task. That is why we should be always led by the Holy Spirit to receive the instruction for anything that we do for the kingdom and its associated earthly life.
God’s leading depends on how we lead our life. If we are leading a carnal life or carnal and spiritual life, there is a high chance of deception through scriptures and voice of the enemy who transformed into an angel of the light. So let us stay away from the flesh, join with the Holy Spirit, enjoy His instruction, and grow every day.
