Acts 7:17 “But when the time of the promise drew near which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt

2 Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

Mat 7:22-23 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

When Israelites started their journey in the wilderness, their goal is to reach the land of Canaan, which is the promise from God to the children of Israel through Abraham. To fulfill that promise, God has to direct the children of Israel through Moses towards the land of Canaan, which is their goal in their life. The pillar of cloud and fire always focused on the purpose of God until that promise is fulfilled.

Likewise, the will of God in our life will be geared or focused towards our ultimate goal in our life. What is our goal? This goal is the ministry in His kingdom appointed by our Lord Jesus Christ when we are called to be part of His fold. God’s will be like a fence around us or a cloud above us, which establish us to achieve our goal. This perimeter of fence will allow us to operate and take decisions that are still inside His will but towards our ministry path.

If anytime we found ourselves outside this fence, then whatever we do is not directed towards our goal. This is when we become self willed and presumptuous and act against the will of God. Even if you do righteous things outside the camp or the fold, you will be out of His purpose and direction in your life.
