Ex 14:19-22 And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night. 21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

In Ex 14:19 we can see the Angel of the Lord, who went before the camp of Israel moved and went behind them. Our Lord Jesus Christ the Rock of our Salvation represented in this incident as the Angel of the Lord. He was leading the camp of Israel by going front of the camp.

The Israelites were in deep stress at this time. They do not know what to do. The fear of death overcame them. This is when they remembered the life of Egypt and complained against Moses.

Many times, we were in this situation. The fear of death comes and grips us. during these times, God wants us to not to look at the situation and be confused or disturbed , but open our eyes to see the working of God in front of the us and behind us.

Lord brought a powerful eastwind to split the sea in front of them, at the same time, the Angel of the Lord, went behind them to fight for them in their rear guard against their enemies. The Pillar of Cloud, which went in front of the Israelites, is now behind the camp. All these things are happening at the same time. This is the awesomeness of our God. He multitask to rescue us from the adversary. He fights for us from our rear guard and simultaneously makes way in front of us to cross the hurdles.

Are we seeing His work that is performed in midst of us? We need to ask God to open our eyes to see His wonderful work, so that we will be strengthen in faith. Elisha’s servant was fearful when he saw the army of the enemies. But, Elisha prayed to God to open the servant’s eyes to see God’s mighty protection. His eyes opened and he saw chariots of fire and God’s army encamped them. OH what a privilege to be under His wings. Oh! What a grace that we received through our Lord Jesus Christ to be under the sovereign shadow of His wings.  See the work of God that is happening all around you today according to His will. Glorify His name and worship the Almighty Lord God in truth and spirit.
