39 Then Moses told these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned greatly. 40 And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the Lord has promised, for we have sinned!” 41 And Moses said, “Now why do you transgress the command of the Lord? For this will not succeed. 42 Do not go up, lest you be defeated by your enemies, for the Lord is not among you. 43 For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have turned away from the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” 44 But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. Nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp. 45 Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt in that mountain came down and attacked them, and drove them back as far as Hormah.
Do not bend God’s will towards your desire or in other words do not try to bring God’s will to where you are. You move to the place where His will camped. Many desire, what they wanted or where they want to go, they wanted God’s will also to be with them. They never want to go under where His will is camped, but they wanted His will to be camped where they stand. This tendency increases when they face a defeat in their endeavor.
When some task or decision went wrong, then they think that it is not God’s will. Instead of going back again to where they started, they wanted to work their way in which they were wrong. The other sad part of this is, when something is failed then they stamp that is not under God’s will and try a different thing, like a trial and error approach. You cannot be under God’s will with this approach. You cannot bring God’s will to the place where you want to be. You can always petition your desire before God, when God grants it, He leads you to the place of your desire and His will be present there. But, do not first go to a place of your desire and then petition to God to extend His will or to extend His perimeter to that place where you stand. This approach God does not like it.
For ex you wanted to work in a place, which you think is very good in money, fame, stability and career growth. If you started to pull the strings to land in that Job and deceive your soul by saying I will try this thing first and if it is God’s will let it happen. In this case, if God allows you to fall into your folly, you will get the Job and you will be outside the will of God. You cannot and dare not to manipulate God to your desire. God pulls the strings for you when you are under His will, you just be present where He wants you to be.
