There are many among us today who entered into the Kingdom of God and enjoying the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ, living near the fence and not willing to move into the depth of the kingdom.
What is living near the fence?
II Tim 3:6-9
6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
There was a grazing area and many goats are grazing in that field. They are well fed and resting in their own place. But when a visitor go near the fence of the grazing field and held out something that is attractive for the goats to eat, they will come to the fence to receive it through the fence. Even though they are well fed, they wanted to fill themselves with something the visitor is offering. If many visitors are doing that, many goats always roam around the fence expecting something from the visitors. We can also see this behavior in a petting zoo. What is the point here? There are many like these goats roaming around the fence desiring to enjoy the things that the devil offers from the outside. So they always live near the fence and never wanted to go in to the depth of the grazing field and find some good pastures that the Shepherd has brought them to. Shepherd many times with His goad pushes them away from the fence, because He knows the food that they receive may not good for the goat. After all the rebukes, they still like to wander near the fence. These goats will be in danger of being deceived because their desire is outside the fence and the flesh is so attractive that they can not resist the devil who makes the flesh to shine in front of them and allure them outside. The devil can not come inside the fence, but we can go outside the fence if we desire to and bring back in the works of darkness inside the fence. Let us move from the fence and grow in Christ to know more about Him and proceed to the core of the kingdom.
