Prov 21:1 “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”

The budding of Aaron’s rod to confirm His selection is divine and God intervened and showed His selection to the people. How did the selection of Esther happen? Did God intervened or King Ahzesures selected his queen? Is Esther happened to be there to be selected and used for the rescue of her people? Is it a coincidence or it is a selection of God under His will? Mordecai says to Esther “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

God’s will, His time and His selection are beyond our comprehension but still He allows us to understand through His word and His Holy Spirit. Prov 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” He moved the king’s heart to select Esther as queen as she found favor in the eyes of the king.  According to the world, the selection of Esther might just be a result of a beauty pageant, but from God’s perspective, it is His establishment of His will.  Oh, who can understand the ways and thoughts of God the Almighty? He rises up kingdoms and removes kingdoms; He rises up kings and destroys kings. Who is there like You Oh my Lord God who executes Your will according to Your good pleasure. By this and many more written in the scriptures we can understand that His will is manifested through divine intervention and/or through the favor of men.

Natural man cannot understand the divine intervention, but can see the favor of men. However, to understand God’s working behind the favor of men needs a spiritual eye (faith in Lord Jesus Christ) to see otherwise it will all becomes coincidence and display of morality and self righteousness.
