I Sam 2:3, 6-9
“Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.
“The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up. 7 The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. 8 He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them. 9 He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail.
A common example, is selecting a life partner. Many, they go about doing their things assuming that God will stop them or God will somehow stop this marriage process if He did not like. If that marriage will lead to the destruction of his/her soul, then God will definitely intervene, but if it is not, then He allows you to go through that marriage. However, there will be pain associated in that married life. We can ask why God allows that to happen especially when it is like selecting a life partner. God is looking from His kingdom view and His ultimate purpose for you in it. This earth’s life revolves around His kingdom and not the other way around. For some, the kingdom of God revolves around their earthly life. If they can make it, they contribute something to the kingdom; otherwise, they just do what their earthly life calls for. If our attitude is like that, God may sometime allow this suffering in our life to learn the reality. We can see in typical parenting that the parents allow their children to do according to their folly after warning many times. They will allow it, even if it brings some pain in their life. It is always wise for God’s children who knew Him, to wait for His decision on any matter (both small and great). If we do that, we can safeguard ourselves some unnecessary pain and fulfill His purpose in our life.
