I cor 2:11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

Mat 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

We can only know the things of God through the Spirit of God. When we are willing and yielding ourselves to suffer for the great cause then only we can know the things of God. Peter when he replied to our Lord, did not understand the meaning of suffering for God’s purpose. That is why he missed the point and was rebuked by the Lord. The things of God are reveled to those who are willing to suffer for God’s kingdom according to the will of God. Willingness to suffer is the boldness in Christ. This is what the early church experienced when they were persecuted. They saw remarkable power of the Holy Spirit why because they were bold in the Lord. How that boldness did come to them? That is the working of the Holy Spirit in their hearts. The deep things of God are revealed to those who are bold for Christ’s sake and will enable them to set the focus on the things of God and they will be in a position to hear and understand the voice of God.
