Phil 2:12-13 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

When God the Holy Spirit spoke to Philip to join the chariot of the Ethiopian eunuch, or when He spoke to Peter to go with the men who came from the house of Cornelius, the voice of God is a response of His will that is already placed in their heart. God speaks to us to confirm what He already planted in us to do His work according to His will and purpose. What we should do to hear that voice of God prompting us to do His will? Ask first and obey to that command, so that you can listen to Him more. Saul on the road to Damascus asked ‘Lord what do you want me to do’ or like Prophet Samuel, ‘Speak, for Your servant hears’. Likewise, ask the Lord to speak to you and to instruct you in what manner, the will of God should be executed or to reveal the will of God that He already planted in your heart and it is hidden from you. The voice of God, who speaks to us, could be heard according to the response of the will of God, which is placed in us. If you ask according to His will, then you can hear Him speaking to you in answering what you have asked. If you are willing to do the work of God, then you can hear Him revealing His plan and filling you with knowledge to execute them. Are you willing to listen to the voice of God?
