I Kings 17: 13-14 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’”

When Elijah told the widow of Zarephath to make some bread loaves for him to eat, the women’s resources were not great at that time. She was at the end of the line in her food supply and they are going to die because of hunger. They have one meal to go and nothing after that. Now Elijah requesting that meal from her. He was a stranger to her, so she might not have believed him first, but the words that he spoke she believed. Even though there is nothing left, she went ahead with belief that the Lord of Elijah will provide her the next meal. We know the result of this faith. She saw the power of God manifested in her and her family’s life until the famine ended.  When we are in a position, where there is no hope for next day or those that are surrounding us can do nothing, and still if we trust in His promise alone, we will see the power of God manifested in our life. When you hold on to His promise even your resources dropped to the last, you will see the glory of God immediately in a blessed way. Stand to the test and receive the reward of your faith. Amen.
