Ezra 6:22 Then the children of Israel who had returned from the captivity ate together with all who had separated themselves from the filth of the nations of the land in order to seek the Lord God of Israel.  22 And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy; for the Lord made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

Joy should come from the Lord. If it comes from the world then it will not be eternal, but temporal. In Ezra 6:22, the people who are scattered gathered together and built the house of God and then they celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with joy. The scriptures tells us that “for the LORD made them joyful”. The LORD God gives us the joy through His blessings. When we ask and receive blessings in the name of Jesus Christ, then God gives us joy in those blessings. He will not add sorrow to it. When the source of joy is from the Head who is Christ, then the members of the body of Christ will rejoice always.
