Jesus saw that Satan fell from the sky as a lightning. If he fell down then he is not in the place where the throne of God is. This indicates that he can only cloud us with darkness in our feet and try to sidetrack us. He can not cloud us above our head. Heb 12:1 clearly states that we are surrounded by powerful witness of faith clouding above us and it continues to say that we have to lay aside every weight and the sin that ensnares us. The snare is kept for our feet to stumble, but through the light of God, we can overcome all the stumbling block and run our race. ‘Thy word is a lamp unto my feet’ why feet and not head? We need to think about it. The darkness can not cloud us on our head. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7). We are surrounded by witness of Faith and not of Fear. So do not fear that the darkness will overtake you. Run with endurance knowing that no darkness is above you but it is at your feet in the authority of Jesus Christ.
