Mark 4:39-40 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
In this world we will have tribulations, trials and temptations; but fear not said Jesus our Lord. He has overcome the world and He promised that we will also overcome if we are in Him. The winds and the waves that arose against our Lord and the disciples, show the fearful moments in our life. The waters almost filled the boat to topple them. That was the extent of the power of the darkness that can come against us. It will push us to be fearful in our life to the core. So what will help us here to overcome these fears? ‘Peace be Still’ Our Lord spoke these words to the wind and the sea. Those words also went to the hearts of His disciples. He expects faith from His disciples to overcome these fearful times. He has given the authority to those who believe in Him, to implement that peace which comes from Him to all their situations. Ps 46:10 says “Be still, and know that I am God” Let us be still in faith and know that the God who rescued us, the Lord who redeemed us is with us from yesterday, today and forevermore.
Thought of the Day: ‘Be still’ I say even when the storms roar and the winds heave. Be still in the Lord, Who is the mighty tower of refuge. Run into Him for shelter. He will not leave you nor forsake you. Amen.
Ps 46:7-11 The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.
