Scripture passage : Mark 4:35-41

When our Lord and the disciples were in the sea traveling, our Lord slept in the boat. Even when the storms tossed the boat and the waters were filling up the boat, He was still sleeping till the disciples cried for help. He slept through regardless of the surrounding and the situation. His flesh did not react like many of our flesh even though it is the same flesh. When we are sleeping, we will wake up with any disturbance minor or major. Our senses are heightened because of the sense of insecurity and the curiosity. That is why many are not able to sleep through the night because of various disturbances they are feeling and seeing in their life. Why we are not able to sleep like our Lord even though the storm was so powerful and threatening? Why we are not able to sleep like our Lord even there is a sinking condition? There are many things working in the life of our Lord that is an example for us to follow Him.

The first thing is that our Lord knew His race or in other words, He knew the will of God the Father. He knew till He finishes that task, He will be in this world among men. So nothing else disturbed Him when it comes to life threatening situation. He did not fear men. He did not moved by other external factors which threaten His life in this earth. Knowing your position with God is one of the key to have a resting faith.

Thought of the Day: Do not fear; have faith in God. Rest your body mind and spirit in the resting faith, knowing that you are more valuable than the sparrows of the field. God has a plan for you and you are in Him and He is in you. So nothing should threaten you either in the day or in the night. Rebuke the thoughts of fear in the name of our Lord and it will flee from you.

Psalm 91: 4-6

He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
