Scripture passage : Mark 4:35-41

The second thing that the Lord teaches us through His sleep during the storm is about fruit of the Holy Spirit. He taught how others can taste that fruit and also by this incident, He teaches us how we ourselves can taste our fruit which is working in us with the power of the Holy Spirit. When our spirit and mind are rested, our body will rest. If it is agitated then our body will react to that agitation. In the boat, He tasted the peace of God; He tasted the self control, which controlled His spirit and mind not get agitated to the external circumstances. He exhibited faith in God. Likewise, depends on our situation, God is ready to work in us to produce the fruit of the Spirit. We have to be ready and willing to taste that fruit. When we taste it, then we can rest in Him with the resting faith. For example, when the situation provokes you to get angry, self control should work in you and by that you should be able to control the tongue or any actions from your body. The self control will control the spirit and give calmness in you. When your spirit is calm, then mind will also rest. Otherwise your mind will dance with your spirit and at one point you will blast out or be restless in your everyday tasks.

Thought of the Day: Give place for the Holy Spirit to work in you by having resting faith. When you do, even when there is a storm like situation, He will sprout peace and self-control in your heart to handle the situation according to His likeness.

Psalm 4: 4-8

4 Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord.

6 There are many who say,“Who will show us any good?”Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

7 You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.

8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
