Scripture Passage: II Kings 2:1-14

We can see the same leading faith that we saw yesterday from the woman who had the flow of blood in Old Testament also. When Elijah was traveling to the place where God wants to take him to Himself, he was faced with the flowing river of Jordan. Without any hesitation, as though the leading faith was in him as his nature, he took his mantle and struck the river. It opened up the way for him and his servant Elisha. They both crossed the river over the dry land. After Elijah was taken to the Lord, Elisha turned back to return to his place. When he returned, Jordan was again flowing with its usual ferocity. Now Elisha took the mantle of Elijah and struck the water like his master Elijah saying, where is the LORD God of Elijah? Elisha executed the same action in faith as his master Elijah. When he did, the river opened up like before and he crossed it over on dry ground. We can see that Elijah lived a life of faith and that led his servant also to follow the same. Our ultimate example is the life of Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Author and Finisher of Faith. So with all these wonderful testimonies from the saints of God surrounds us, let us run our race in faith which could be an example to others.

Thought of the Day:

Our life of faith is the example for those who are coming after us in the Way of Jesus Christ. Are we leading our children by living a life of faith? Our life of faith will have a greater impact in our children’s life. There greatest asset that you can pass on to your kids is your leading faith. This leading faith will lead them to Jesus Christ.

‘Follow Me I will make you fishers of men’ says the Lord.

1 Peter 2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
