Scripture Passage: Hebrews 4th chapter

14. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The answer lies not in the paths but in the destination. When Israelites took another path, they still marched to the same destination. When we are in Christ Jesus, our journey begins in faith in Him who is the Author of Faith, and finish in the Finisher of Faith. Whatever be the path that was chosen in Him all leads to the same destination. Imagine you messed up in your marriage and did not select the man or woman as by the original plan of God, you can not come to the original plan of God once God established the marriage covenant with whom you chose. In this case you have to move forward to the destination. Now this is where the difference between new and old covenant comes into picture. The Israelites who did not had faith died without reaching the destination in the wilderness. Those who had faith reached the destination like Joshua and Caleb. Likewise, when we chose another path while we are in Christ Jesus, then we have grace of God to reach the destination WITHOUT perishing in between. This is why we are justified by Faith through Jesus Christ and not of our own works. Whatever path we may be in Christ Jesus, the faith that we received through Him carries us through our trials and temptations and takes us safely into the destination. When we are messed up, God gives us strength through Jesus Christ to get up and walk or to endure the wilderness.

Thought of the Day: What is the guarantee that we have in the new covenant that we will not perish in between but we reach safely the Promised Land? It is His Holy Spirit. He is our Guarantor to take us safe to the destination. As the pillar of cloud and fire lead the Israelites through the wilderness, we were also given with a Helper who is in unity with the Father and Son, will lead us to the destination through faith that we received from Jesus Christ by the grace of God.

2 Cor1:21-22 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
