John 20:1-10

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

Mary was so fearful and sad when she saw the open tomb. Her fear immediately made her to think that someone stole Jesus body. When we are in fear we only see the open tomb but failed to see the power of God. Our thought process immediately takes us through various scenarios of an open tomb, but never realize the scripture that Christ will rise up from the dead. This is very true in our discipleship today. We do not see the power of God through the open tomb but we only see the open tomb and panic. Even though the disciple were told that He would rise in the third day they did not realize at that moment of fear and dismay. Likewise we know many scriptures and many testimonies of God’s power, but we still don’t remember it or put in action those words of God at the time of fear. The spirit of fear is the worst enemy to blind our eyes to see the glory of God. The power of God is not manifested because of the fear that is in our heart.

In today’s brittle and luxurious world even a slight discomfort bring so much fear in our heart and that is the reason many are blinded to see the power of God. Cast out the spirit of fear and you will see the glory of God. The power that raised up Christ Jesus will work miracles in your life. The open tomb is the sign of God’s power and it is not a sign of loss. Devil is a liar and through the spirit of fear he brings lies and doubts in your mind to destabilize your faith. Humble yourselves to God and resist the devil and he shall flee from you.
