1 Chronicles 28:2 Then King David rose to his feet and said, “Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations to build it.
After the Tabernacle is established, the cloud was above the tabernacle and resting upon the tent. The children of God camped around it according to their tribes, which are set in order. They started their journey when the cloud rises from the tabernacle and they stop their journey when it rested. The tabernacle design and all its functions, which were given to Moses, was the shadow of the heavenly ordinance.
The Tabernacle represents the body of Jesus Christ or His church. His church is the witness of God in heaven and earth. His church is the covenant of Peace that God established with man as a sign of reconciliation through His only Son Jesus Christ. When we look at the Lord’s prayer, ‘Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’ what is the will of the Father here that His Son mentions that we have to pray about?
- His ultimate establishment of His sovereignty both in heaven and in earth
- His works that are directed towards His enemies until they are made as a footstool for Christ
- His coming and the thousand-year reign on this earth
As children of God, we need to understand this witness of God and how it is all tied together in Christ Jesus under the sovereign will of God. Let us pray to God to get the understanding of this witness, so that we would be found eligible in the kingdom of God.
